Deconstructing music videos

"You've had a bad day" - Daniel Powter

This music video is heavily performance based and features the artist a lot in the video cutting back to him singing and playing the piano frequently. The whole video links back to the title and line in the song "You've had a bad day" the video can feel a little depressing at times showing the man and woman having a multitude of bad days with waking up early and working. A large amount of people can probably sympathise with this feeling which makes the song much more relatable.

This video also links back to a set line and bases the entire video on it "Shut up and drive" this video also focuses a lot on Rihanna's body as opposed to the cars that the song first appears to be about  you listen to the lyrics and watch the video you realize cars are not what she is talking about however the setting and costume and props lead you to believe she is talking about cars.
